Memoirs - Edwards

I attended Kindergarten (1961/1962) and 1st grade (1962/1963) at PHES. My kindergarten teacher was Mrs Okuna. My 1st grade teacher was Mrs Onaga. I lived in Navy housing at 1158 Cakon Place at that time. The street has been scraped off the landscape and new private homes built on Cakon Place today. My dad was in the Navy, thus we had a short visit for the duration of his assignment. The cup of guava juice for the morning break was always great. The "naps" on the floor seemed a waste of time. Lining up for the "sugar cube" polio vaccine was "memorable".
